Are they?
I asked the Sumatra to stop fanning its flames over to our sunny shores
so
tt dear could go and frolick on the beach today. He acceded my request.
thx
Sumatra.
Just when u least expect it... from a high of 150 PSI last nite...its a
low
of 32 now. God knows wat happened overnite. And it was clear blue
skies... a
pity we didnt go to the beach. and then i didnt get to go for a buffet
lunch. cos my cousin nv jio...only jio my parents. which leaves me
completely satisfied with a packet of chicky rice.
i am never one who picks or chooses food. I jus need a simple meal or
anything for tt matter to fulfil my tummy. thats all i ask for. I am
easily
hooked on TVB's drama i realised. was watching some tour guide drama on
channel 55. starring diao da yu i think tt;shisname...
on one scene it shows the extent of his professionalism and his
devotion to
his job as a tour guide such that he makes ever tourist happy. and then
i
start to think abt sillypore.
not tt i wanna lament abt it. but Singapore is really a far cry from
being a
first world nation or so we claim. talk abt service with a smile.
poooie! We
dun get it. at least not sincere ones. other than some stores like
Giordano.. other shops really have a long way to go. They smile for the
sake
of smiling.
Having served pple b4 in USA for 3 months, i do understand how the
staff
probably fill in this service sector. Having to face obnoxious and
ignorant
and cocky customers all day probably coupled with long working hours
prevented them form providing service excellence.
So i do feel for the pple in the service industry. But really. whats so
difficult about a nice heartfelt smile form ur heart?
i read neil humphreys article on yesterdays TODAY....he speaks of the
culture in aussieland. where everyone jus stops to ask or greet each
other...simple phrases like "how'r u doin mate?" despite the long
queues in
the cashier....the cashier still greets each customer with a friendly
greetin...and the customers do not mind the longer wait. I guess
kindness
begets kindness and everyone just sorts of influence each other. such
is the
slower pace of life in Oz.
he then mentioned abt the recently concluded IMF meetings where the
gahmen
started a campaign....something abt 4 million smiles welcoming the
delegates. yeah. A perfect example of SIngaporeans...supporting the
gahmen
in such campaigns... not to mentioned the hundreds of poly students
emplyed
to smile at the delegates...
and once the campaign is over... we are back to being our silly
selves...what then is the purpose of such campaigns...it really seems
we are
smiling at the delegates fat pockets of their spilling wallets.. is
money
really our main motive?
hmm but then again thats probably life in Singapore. where material
needs
are placed above anything else. the paper chase... the 5Cs...the blah
blah
blah...i could go on and on forever .
sometimes i just wish we(singaporeans) could all jus stop for a min or
two...and tink.. and reflect...why do we need so much money.... why? do
we
really need to earn a lot to be happy? are we trying to earn super lot
of
money so we can dig buy a nice coffin and have a grand funeral and
leave a
huge huge sum of money to our descendants to squabble over?
think about it.
Life could be a lot happier if you could jus spend time with ur loved
ones...staying happy and healthy and being kind and all to one
another...
then life would be perfect. who gives a shit about being a first world
nation?
Not I...probably not you too...
happy sunday to one and all.

DOTA-siao....confirm last min...
must be constant revision...probably shopping online (AGAIN)
Outside the M&Ms store.
MGM Grand.....htey made a bid for our IR?
I believe its Bally's
A typicical breakfast...Steak with 3 sunnys and a hash brown
Hooters has its own casino....
I like Wynn... simple and elegant.
Flamingo....or rather Pink Flamingo.
Dear with M&M pillows.
And of cos the Mirage....in the heart of a desert.
